BeverageIndex is a global beverage price tracking platform that provides transparent, data-driven price information for drinks across major cities worldwide.
What We Track
We monitor and compare prices for 300 beverages across 100 cities in over 60 countries, generating more than 30,000 data points. Our coverage spans eight categories: coffee, beer, wine, spirits, tea, juice, soft drinks, and specialty beverages.
How It Works
Our pricing data is derived from publicly available cost-of-living databases. We use a systematic anchor-and-ratio methodology: verified anchor prices (such as a regular cappuccino or a domestic beer) are sourced directly from aggregated datasets, and related beverages are calculated using established price ratios.
Each price entry is classified by source tier:
- Tier 1 — Verified: Price sourced directly from aggregated public data.
- Tier 2 — Derived: Price calculated from a verified anchor using a standard ratio.
Our Data Sources
BeverageIndex draws from publicly available cost-of-living datasets that aggregate pricing information reported by contributors worldwide. These sources cover thousands of cities and are widely used in economic research and cost comparison studies.
